Sponsorship – a genuine connection between the sponsor and the sponsored child – is a big part of our program. At present we have 114 sponsored children. 74 reside with grandparents, other relatives or kindly neighbours, 35 at Rolling Hills Residence and 5 at Exodus Children’s Home. We encourage regular contact through e-mails, regular mail or parcels.
There are still so many other orphans in need of support. Below are the next group of children who have been identified as desperately needing support. Sponsorship involves a monthly donation of between $30.00 and $65.00 – whatever the sponsor is comfortable providing. We usually prefer at least a one year commitment from sponsors.
We have also provided a ‘wish list’ with each child. This is different from monthly sponsorship, as a list is filled only once. The list is of things that could allow a significant improvement in that child’s life. These items include the most basic of things that we take for granted – blankets, a mattress, school supplies, shoes, textbooks or school fees. If you would like to make a wish come true for one of these children we would welcome your donation.
With the children listed in this section we are very close to reaching our limit of sponsored children. This is reflective of both the significant impact we have had on Mbooni district and our commitment to remaining small, manageable, responsive, transparent and maintaining the personal connection between child and sponsor.
(A child who has a wish list that has not yet been granted has an asterisk (*) before their name)
