Residence: In community with his 64 year old grandfather
Background:
Kyalo Mulili is 4 years old and lives with his 63 year old grandfather, 80 year old great grandmother, his standard (grade) 3 brother and cousin. His mother passed away the same year he was born from chest problems. She was divorced. He is in nursery school.
The family owns a 2 acre piece of land on which they plant maize, beans, cowpeas, cassava and bananas. They have 2 cows, 2 goats and 1 chicken. They depend on the farm to earn a living, selling the surplus produce.
Kyalo sleeps on a wooden bed with his brother and they have old torn beddings and use rags as a mattress. His wish list includes clothes, school uniform, shoes, school fees, textbooks, stationery, school bag, food, blankets, mattress, bedsheets, soap and reading lamp. This can be fulfilled with a $162 donation.
