Mualuko Mwanza was born in 2001 and is 11 years old. His exact date of birth is unknown. He is in standard (grade) 6 and lives with is 70+ year old grandfather, 60+ year old grandmother, and four younger cousins. His father passed away on 4th July, 2006 at the age of 43 years and his mother on 1st August, 2006 at the age of 36 years, both from an illness.
They plant maize on their 1 acre piece of land and they have 3 cows and 2 goats. The grandparents get help from close relatives and they also earn a living from selling vegetables and milk. Mualuko sleeps on a wooden bed with an old mattress and an old blanket.
