Musau Mueni was born in 1998 and is 14 years old. He is in standard 4 and in his previous exams, he was position 12 out of 27 kids in his class. His mother was a single parent and she passed away in 2007 from typhoid. He lives with his 40+ year old uncle, 37 year old aunt and their 6 children and his standard (grade) 5 sister.
The uncle plants maize, beans, cowpeas, trees, bananas and avocadoes on his ¼ acre piece of land. He also has 4 sheep and 4 chickens. He earns $ 67 per month with which he supports his family. He also earns an additional income from selling trees. The house is made of brick and iron sheets and he sleeps on a wooden bed shared with one of his cousins. They don’t have any beddings, just rags.
